C(12-x)A(7).x(CaF2) (x = 0 similar to 1.5) minerals were synthesized a
nd their hydration was studied. When x is increased in the C(12-x)A(7)
.x(CaF2), lattice parameter, a, of the cubic mayenite crystal is decre
ased and the gravity of this mineral is increased. X significantly inf
luences hydration. C(12)A(7) hydrated and produced thermodynamically i
s metastable C(2)AH(8) until 28 days. The conversion reaction from C(2
)AH(8) to C(3)AH(6) was detected from 3 days. When the minerals contai
ning F hydrated, stable C(3)AH(6) hydrate was dominantly produced at 2
8 days. At the early hydration time within 3 days, little C(2)AH(8) wa
s detected and finally it was converted to stable C(3)AH(6) hydrate at
