Abstract
The cleavage thresholds of optically thin plane samples of copper, bra ss, bronze, nickel, titanium, molybdenum, tantalum, tungsten, zinc, si lver, cadmium, and lead under thermal shock initiated by a brief nucle ar-explosion X-ray pulse are investigated.
