The silicon based dendrimer CH2CH2CH2SiMe(CH2CH2CH2SiMe(OCH2CH=CH2)(2)
)(2))(4) (4), which contains different dendrone is accessible by the f
ollowing reaction sequence. Treatment of Si(OCH2CH2CH2SiMeCl2)(4) (1)
with BrMgCH2CH=CH2 produces Si(OCH2CH2CH2SiMe(CH2CH=CH2)(2))(4), (2).
Hydrosilylation of 2 with HSiMeCl2 produces the terminal SiMeCl2-funct
ionalized dendritic molecule Si(OCH2CH2CH2SiMe(CH2CH2CH2SiMeCl2)(2))(4
) (3), which on further reaction with HOCH2CH=CH2 and NEt3 affords the
second generation dendrimer Si(OCH2CH2CH2SiMe(CH2CH2CH2SiMe(OCH2CH= C
H2)(2))(2))(4) (4). The formation of the uniform and analytical pure d
endrimers 1-4 was controlled by H-1- and C-13{H-1}-NMR spectroscopy as
well as elemental analysis.
