Abstract
Cement pastes were immersed in an acid solution of 0.87 M HAc/NaAc. (p H 4.5) and in distilled water for different periods of time up to 90 d ays. Changes in the solid phases were evaluated by scanning electron m icroscopy, X-ray microanalysis, and X-ray diffraction after the extrac tion of the specimens from the solutions. Results showed that acid att ack could lead to delayed ettringite formation.
