Abstract
This paper describes the hardware system of TX7 scalable server series . TX7 series have newly been provided as technical and scientific calc ulation server products. The series are high-performance servers speci fically suited for technical and scientific calculations such as struc tural analysis, computer-aided engineering, etc. The 64-bit PA-RISC da gger PA-8000 double dagger and PA-8200,double dagger both among the wo rld's fastest and most advanced microprocessors, are used in the serie s. The series consists of six models and covers from the entry level t o middle range. The series is a scalar/shared memory type Symmetrical Multiprocessor (SMP) product to round off the extensive lineup of the NEC HPC (High Performance Computing) server family, SX series and Cenj u series.
