An improved algorithm is proposed for more accurately estimating proce
ss emissions from chemical batch hearing operations, Results using the
derived algorithm ave compared to those obtained from the current 199
4 EPA standard calculations [1] and from the newly proposed NESHAP sta
ndards [4]. The new approach is shown to result in lower emission esti
mations from process vents for volatile components, especially when th
e final temperature is near the boiling point temperature of the liqui
d in the vessel.
