This paper studies the impinging of two ideal fluid jets. The usual tw
o-dimensional model of jet flow uses an ideal, incompressible, weightl
ess fluid to describe these impinging jets, so that the problem become
s one of complex analysis which seems to have an infinite number of an
alytical solutions, except for direct jet impacts. The new approach pr
esented here is based on the construction of a dividing line between t
he two jets. It gives an efficient procedure for solving this problem
numerically when the jets flow in arbitrary directions and the solutio
n obtained seems to be unique.
