Abstract
This paper describes chemical strategies, used in conjunction with the template method, for preparing composite micro- and nanostructures. A n example is shown here. Each pore in the template membrane (A) is fir st filled with a tubule of Au (B). An electropolymerization method is then used to deposit a tubule of an insulating polymer within each Au tubule (C). A microwire of polypyrrole is then deposited down the cent er of each of the insulting-polymer tubes (D).
