Abstract
F-19 MAS NMR of fluoride-ion conductors is shown to be an effective me thod for probing the mechanisms of anion motion at a local level. The three fluoride-ion sites in the superionic conductor LaF3 and its anio n-deficient solid solution La1.99Sr0.01F2.99 all have different dynami c behavior. The three sites are resolved in the F-19 spectra, allowing motion between and in each of the sublattices to be observed directly .
