Abstract
Neurophysiology and neuropharmacology are reviewed, followed by a disc ussion of how drugs work in the nervous system. The effects of aging o n pharmacokinetics, the study of how drugs move in the body, are discu ssed. Disorders that affect communication of older persons are present ed along with a review of the drugs used to manage these disorders. Th e desired effects as well as side effects of the drugs are addressed.
