Abstract
Bacterial endocarditis due to Lactococcus garvieae is extremely unusua l, and may actually be underreported due to its morphologic and bioche mical similarities with enterococci. Only three cases have been report ed in the medical literature, and all involved prosthetic valves. We r eport a case of native valve bacterial endocarditis caused by L. garvi eae.
