F. Werner et al., MODELING OF SAUTER-MEAN-DIAMETER AND HOLD -UP FOR A CONICAL TURBINE IN A GAS-LIQUID DISPERSION, Forschung im Ingenieurwesen, 63(3), 1997, pp. 45-51
By comparing the experimental data of the Sauter-mean-diameter d(32) a
nd the hold up cp with models from literature, there are presented equ
ations for d,, and phi for the used conical turbine in gas-liquid syst
ems. The necessary adjustment of the proportionality constants of the
literature equations will be explained on the basis of fluiddynamical
phenomena. It can be established by fluiddynamical results of a former
study carried out with laser-doppler-anemometry. Coalescence phenomen
a are taken into account in the model using an analogy to bubble colum
ns. The analogy to bubble columns turns out to be suitable. Arguments
for the necessity of considering the local fluiddynamics in the modell
ing of dispersions are presented.
