M. Asahina et al., D-PENICILLAMINE TREATMENT FOR CHRONIC SENSORY ATAXIC NEUROPATHY ASSOCIATED WITH SJOGRENS-SYNDROME, Neurology, 51(5), 1998, pp. 1451-1453
Beneficial treatment has not been established for chronic sensory atax
ic neuropathy associated with Sjogren's syndrome (CSAN-SS). We describ
e two patients with CSAN-SS who clinically improved in response to D-p
enicillamine treatment. Their neuropathic symptoms were lessened after
D-penicillamine, and the results of electrophysiologic studies suppor
t the clinical improvement. D-Penicillamine can be considered a potent
ially beneficial agent in the treatment of CSAN-SS.
