Abstract
A general framework is presented for the resolution of hyperbolic syst em of conservation laws, by finite-volume schemes. The concept of accu racy is specified for a large class of compact and non-compact approxi mations. An error-estimate type result, given here for linear problems , justifies the finite-volume accuracy concept. (C) Academie des Scien ces/Elsevier, Paris
