M. Sano et al., REAL-TIME HOLOGRAPHIC VIBROMETRY WITH A FERROELECTRIC LIQUID-CRYSTAL SPATIAL LIGHT-MODULATOR, Applied optics, 37(32), 1998, pp. 7523-7531
A fast ferroelectric liquid-crystal spatial light modulator, originall
y developed for optical computing, has found a new application in vibr
ometry. A new scheme of vibration-synchronized double-exposure hologra
phic interferometry is proposed that makes full use of the speed of th
e ferroelectric liquid-crystal spatial light modulator. Preliminary ex
periments were performed that demonstrate virtually continuous real-ti
me vibrometric data acquisition. (C) 1998 Optical Society of America.
