Abstract
Foot ulceration and ultimately amputation are major complications asso ciated with diabetes mellitus, the occurrence of which can be substant ially reduced by appropriate care. This article provides a brief overv iew of the problem and a simple scheme for use in primary care diabete s clinics to contribute to the reduction in this particular form of di abetes-related morbidity and mortality.
