J. Kaloustian et al., COMPARATIVE THERMAL AND CHEMICAL-ANALYSIS OF 5 MEDITERRANEAN PLANTS, JOURNAL OF THERMAL ANALYSIS AND CALORIMETRY, 53(1), 1998, pp. 57-69
The comparative thermal and chemical study was done on five mediterran
ean plants: Acacia dealbata, Quercus coccifera, Rosmarinus officinalis
, Thymus vulgaris, Ulex parviflorus. Results were independent of the d
rying way of samples (110 degrees C, 60 degrees C or lyophilisation).
The correlation between the maximum decomposition rate at about 300 de
grees C and the content of cellulose was confirmed. The samples cut on
the same foot of Ulex parviflorus, in spring, produced, for the thorn
s and sprigs, a minimum in cellulose content, and a maximum in lignine
content. The results were inverse in winter.
