CUTANEOUS NERVE HYPERTROPHY

We present a case of cutaneous nerve hypertrophy possibly secondary to scratching or other trauma. The patient was symptomatic and sought su rgical treatment, despite no clinical lesion being evident. This type of change has not been previously reported in this clinical setting. T here was no clinical evidence of multiple endocrine neoplasia-type 2b (MEN-2b). Awareness of this entity may avoid unnecessary surgery.
