Abstract
A boundary layer analysis is presented for the mixed convection from a vertical plate embedded in a porous medium. The effects of thermal di spersion and stratification on the flow and temperature fields are inv estigated. The conservation equations that govern the problem are redu ced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The resu lting equations were solved on the basis of the local similarity appro ach.
