Abstract
FTIRS combined with N-15 and O-18 isotope substitution and TPD have re vealed that nitrates are the most abundant ad-NOx species on over-exch anged Cu- and Co-ZSM-5 zeolites. The transformation rates of such spec ies under the action of a propane - oxygen mixture were found to be co mparable and sufficiently high to afford steady-state catalytic activi ties. A scheme of the reaction mechanism including C, N -containing in termediates detected in this work is suggested.
