Abstract
Within the European project HELISHAPE, the Euler methods for the calcu lation of multibladed rotors in hovering flight, developed respectivel y by DLR and ONERA, have been compared and assessed. No prescribed wak e model is used by both methods. In this work, the computations were p erformed on common single-block structured grids for two realistic fou r-bladed rotors of aspect ratio equal to 15, The numerical results - o btained before the experimental data were available - compare fairly w ell with the experiment. Special attention is paid to the capture of t he wake and the evolution of the tip vortex.
