OXYGEN-CONSUMPTION BY ADULT COCKROACHES (BLATTODEA, INSECTA)

It was shown that the intensity of oxygen consumption in sexually matu re cockroaches depends on temperature. The temperature dependence of r espiration in the order Blattodea is expressed by an exponent, while r espiration as a function of body mass is expressed by an allometric eq uation with coefficients a = 0.96 m Wt and k = 0.80. These coefficient s were obtained on the basis of the authors' observations and publishe d data for 12 species of cockroaches (34 measurements).
