A. Roney et al., MEASUREMENTS OF KINETIC ENERGIES RELEASED TO THE 2S S-3-1 DISSOCIATION THRESHOLD OF HE-2(1S S), Chemical physics letters, 270(1-2), 1997, pp. 59-65
The 2s S-3 + 1s S-1 dissociation threshold of He-2 was probed by means
of a technique based on the use of a fast He-2(+) ion beam and charge
exchange processes with alkaline vapor. Measurement of the kinetic en
ergy spectrum confirmed the known barrier tunneling of the c (3) Sigma
(g)(+) state to this dissociation limit and put forth signs of a compe
tition between radiative decay and predissociation processes for highl
y excited states of He-2.
