The superconductivity in cuprates has been suggested to result from (a
) holes clustering resonances as a means of restoring antiferromagneti
c order, and (b) the formation of weak peroxy-chemical bonds. This und
erstanding is employed here to explain the appearance of superconducti
vity in the 'ladder' compound (Sr, Ca)(14)Cu24O41 under pressure.
