R. Sasdelli et al., ABOUT THE ACCURACY OF SOME PROPOSED PROCEDURES FOR REVENUE METERING UNDER NONSINUSOIDAL UNBALANCED CONDITIONS, European transactions on electrical power, 8(5), 1998, pp. 361-367
in order to discourage the insertion of polluting loads, suitable tari
ff policies should be adopted. A possible strategy is based on the com
parison between the total active power and the active power at fundame
ntal frequency and positive sequence. Digital Signal Processing techni
ques allow for the implementation of revenue meters able to measure bo
th those quantities and any index based on them. This paper analyses t
he accuracy that can be expected in the measurement of both the ratio
and the difference of the above powers. The results of numerical simul
ations confirm that the ratio measurement is suitable for revenue purp
oses even when the total and fundamental active powers differ for part
s per thousands.
