Abstract
A Hamiltonian description is constructed for a wide class of mechanica l systems having local symmetry transformations depending on time deri vatives of the gauge parameters of arbitrary order. The Poisson bracke ts of the Hamiltonian and constraints with each other and with an arbi trary function are explicitly obtained. The constraint algebra is prov ed to be of the first class.
