Abstract
The technology is available today to form unique materials comprising only a few atoms or molecules up to thousands. The physical properties of these 'nanomaterials' lie somewhere between those of the bulk phas e, which can be explained by classical physics, and those of the respe ctive atoms or molecules, which can be explained by quantum mechanics.
