Abstract
Studied is the elliptic Ruijsenaars model, which is a difference analo gue of the Calogero-Sutherland-Moser model. Using a novel relationship between the elliptic Ruijsenaars operator and the transfer matrix of the Belavin model, we diagonalize the Ruijsenaars operator by the alge braic Bethe ansatz method.
