Abstract
Many thermophilic actinomycetes were isolated from samples collected f rom a hot-spring, lake and soil in Yunnan, China. Chemical and molecul ar classification of four selected strains of thermophilic Streptomyce s with an upper limited growth temperature of 65-68 degrees C and auto lytic characteristics was carried out. A new species, Streptomyces the rmogriseus sp. nov. is described. The type strain is Y-14046(T) (= CCT CC AA97014(T)).
