Abstract
Tetracyclines are frequently used in the treatment of periodontitis; h owever, emergence of resistant bacterial strains has decreased the uti lity of these drugs. At present, there are a lot of data in the litera ture from which one can draw conclusions regarding the use of local dr ug delivery. This paper reviews the utility and different systems of l ocal delivery of minocycline, a semisynthetic tetracycline, in the tre atment of periodontitis.
