Abstract
Single crystals of a europium complex with beta-alaninehydroxamic acid were obtained and analysed by X-ray diffraction. Well resolved absorp tion, optical emission and excitation spectra down to 4 K are reported . The temperature dependence of individual terms was determined, and t he nature of the changes observed is briefly discussed. The head of th e paper is devoted to the electron-fonon coupling and co-operative int eraction of pair of ions in a dimer. Assignments of vibronic transitio ns are proposed on the basis IR data. Spectroscopic characteristics of the title compound are related to the crystal structure and compared to corresponding data for europium cc-derivatives (L and DL) [1,2].
