Abstract
The Little-Parks effect is analytically deduced for a cylinder of an a rbitrary section. A detailed analysis is performed for a case of ellip tic sections with various eccentricities. Fluctuations of the magnetic moment are calculated for a loop of an arbitrary shape in the critica l and Gaussian regimes. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
