The ground state energy and the ground state spin in the double-chain
Hubbard model with infinite interaction are calculated using the varia
tional wave function in the matrix-product;form. The critical electron
ic density is determined below which the Nagaoka state is unstable. Th
ere is a region of the electronic density where the ground state with
