Abstract
Transient heat and mass transfer associated with a moving liquid drop during absorption was numerically studied in this work. The roles play ed by the internal circulation inside the droplet and the exothermic h eat effect were demonstrated. The numerical results reveal that the si gnificant absorption enhancement by internal circulation becomes negli gible with the increase of exothermic absorption heat. The highly exot hermic system of LiBr/H2O, which is used as a typical refrigerant/abso rbent combination in commercial absorption heat pump (AHP), was select ed as an example to illustrate this point.
