Abstract
Interaction of coal with acetyl nitrate at room temperature is studied by determination of variations in the yield and characteristics of so lid products (oxidized coals), followed by ESR, infrared spectroscopy, and derivatography. The process is considered as a first step of prep aration of carbon adsorbents in the chemical activation mode and of hu mic acids by alkaline hydrolysis.
