Abstract
A series of poly[4,4'-alkylenebis(oxycarbonylphenyl) terephthalates] a re prepared by polycondensation of terephthaloyibis(4-oxybenzoyl chlor ide) and short-chain branched glycols. The effect of substituents in t he alkylene bridge on the temperatures of phase transitions in the mes omorphic polymers prepared is studied.
