The discrepancy in the H-1 and C-13 chemical shift anisotropy values f
or chloroform determined using ENEMIX and other methods [J. Vaara, K.
Oikarinen, J. Jokisaari, J. Lounila, Chem. Phys. Lett. 253 (1996) 340]
has been shown to arise from the use of the reference compound and no
t because of hydrogen bonding between chloroform and the cyanide group
of the solvent used. The NEMIX method [C.L. Khetrapal, A.C. Kunwar, C
hem. Phys. Lett. 82 (1981) 170] is shown to give more consistent resul
