Abstract
TEM observations on heterogeneous nucleation of hardening phases direc tly on pre-precipitates in an Al-Cu-Mg-Si alloy are reported. Some hyp othesis are made on the mechanism of intermediate precipitation by mea ns of heterogeneous nucleation of clusters during a thermal scanning. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
