M. Modarres et Gh. Bordbar, INCOMPRESSIBILITY OF HOT ASYMMETRICAL NUCLEAR-MATTER - LOWEST ORDER CONSTRAINED VARIATIONAL APPROACH, Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 58(5), 1998, pp. 2781-2786
The isothermal and isentropic incompressibility of asymmetrical nuclea
r matter are investigated in the framework of the lowest order constra
ined variational method. Various phenomenological nucleon-nucleon inte
ractions, namely, the Reid, the Delta-Reid, and the new Argonne potent
ials are used. It is found that the temperature as well as the asymmet
ry parameter reduce the incompressibility of asymmetrical nuclear matt
er. The pressure is calculated along isentropic paths. It is shown tha
t the equation state is much harder than the one usually assumed in th
e hydrodynamical simulations of supernova collapse. Various discussion
s are made in connection with the problem of supernova explosions and
other many-body model calculations. [S0556-2813(98)03311-1].
