Abstract
A methodology was developed for the direct substitution of allylic alc ohols and acetates by alcohol nucleophiles in order to synthesize ally lic ethers. The reaction was mediated by highly concentrated ethereal solutions of lithium perchlorate and proceeded with high regiospecific ity. Additionally, the methodology was extended to enable allyl ether exchanges to occur. (C) 1997 Academic Press.
