Abstract
The preparation of sterically hindered secondary amino esters from the reaction of N-protected alpha-amino aldehydes and 3-, or Zero esters with alpha-amino esters by reductive amination is described. The resul ting amino esters were converted to the beta-lactam or acylated to for m N-acyl secondary amides.
