Abstract
A simple, rapid and inexpensive method for the determination of methyl ene chloride, ethylene dichloride, trichloroethylene and tetrachloroet hylene in atmospheric air is described. The target compounds are sorbe d on activated charcoal and desorbed with p-xylene; Recoveries amount to 95%. The extracts are analyzed by gas chromatography with electron capture detection. Determination limits are much lower than permissibl e exposure limits developed in Poland.
