The effect of swelling of a linear PB in CCl4 on the character of macr
omolecular motions was studied by measuring the temperature dependence
of the spin-lattice nuclear magnetic relaxation measured under the mu
ltipulse spin-lock conditions. In the case of small degrees of swellin
g, the temperature dependence of the relaxation time comprises three p
ortions corresponding to three modes of the macromolecular motion. The
passage to high degrees of swelling is accompanied by increasing the
entanglement length N-e and the number of macromolecular segments part
icipating in the small-scale motions.
