Abstract
The study of temperature dependent infrared (i.r.) and Raman spectra o f alternating ethylenetetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) copolymer suggests th at the transition from orthorhombic to hexagonal phases may be driven by the generation and propagation of conformational solitons (gentle m obile chain twist).
