Abstract
Rate constants for the reactions of the iminium ions Me2N+=CH2 (1), (P r2N+)-Pr-i=CH2 (2), (3), and Me2N+=C(Cl)H (4) with nucleophiles were d etermined by H-1-NMR spectroscopy. By correlation, the electrophilicit y parameters E(1) = -7.0, E(2) = -8.0, E(3) = -4.8, and E(4) = -5.8 we re obtained, which allow to define scope and limitation of aminomethyl ations.
