Abstract
The scattering data of a potential, separable in ellipsoidal coordinat es, are expanded in perturbed Lame wave functions. These functions ari se when variables in the Schrodinger equation are separated in the ell ipsoidal coordinate system. Preliminary calculations are displayed for the total cross Section and the scattering amplitude versus direction . The quicker the potential vanishes at infinity the more pronounced i s the dependence on the incident direction. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons , Inc.
