Susceptibility and specific heat results are presented for the warwick
ite compounds Mg1+xTi1-xBO4. This one-dimensional magnetic material is
characterized by the presence of ribbons along the c-axis where the m
agnetic Ti3+ ions are randomly located. The low-temperature susceptibi
lities are given by chi (T) proportional to T-alpha with the exponent
a weakly dependent on Its temperature dependence is well described by
C proportional to T1-alpha where alpha is the susceptibility exponent.
