Yv. Malyukin et al., LUMINESCENCE OF FREE AND SELF-TRAPPED EXCITONS IN J-AGGREGATES OF QUINO-2-MONOMETHINE CYANINE, Optics and spectroscopy, 85(4), 1998, pp. 525-528
Time-resolved luminescence spectra of J-aggregates of quino-2-monometh
ine cyanine containing real exciton traps are studied. It is found tha
t free excitons are more efficiently quenched by the traps than the se
lf-trapped ones. The structures of quino-2-monomethine cyanine J-aggre
gates in the dimethylformamide-water solution and Langmuir-Blodgett fi
lm are analyzed, and the applicability of the adiabatic theory of exci
ton self-trapping to the interpretation of experimental data are discu
ssed.
