It is found that dust sheared flow in combination with the dust-neutra
l drag produce a dissipative instability of short-wavelength (in compa
rison with the ion gyroradius) electrostatic waves in nonuniform dusty
magnetoplasmas. Furthermore, the nonlinear interactions between these
finite amplitude short-wavelength waves give rise to a vortex chain w
hich moves with a well defined constant velocity. The relevance of our
investigation to laboratory and space plasmas has been pointed out. (
