Abstract
It is shown that the spin asymmetry of the elastic transmission of ele ctrons through ferromagnetic films can approach unity. The polycrystal line Co films are a few nanometers thick and saturated with the magnet ization (M) over right arrow in the plane. The contribution of spin-pr oductive scattering events is below 5%. If the electron spin at incide nce is chosen to be perpendicular to (M) over right arrow, it rotates into the direction of (M) over right arrow and also precesses around i t.
